1. Store and Install The Battery in an Airy Space

Whenever you buy inverter battery make sure to store it in an open or airy place. This will allow natural cooling air circulation to counter the inverter battery heating problem. You should never store or leave the inverter battery in hot places like near a heater, by fire, or near sunlight.


2. Clean The Terminals of The Battery

Always make sure that the terminals of the battery are clean and dust-free. Since the inverter battery produces lead sulphate which gets deposited at the battery terminal during normal operation, these terminals should be cleaned regularly. In case of lead sulphate accumulation, you can clean the battery with warm water and a nylon brush.


3. Check The Acid Level

In order to check the acid level, you should look at the float indicators. For the proper working of the battery, this acid level should be equal in all cells. You should also ensure that the batteries are not overfilled because it might be dangerous. You can also open the vent plugs/float indications and test the acid color. If the health of the inverter is good, the acid will appear colorless.


4. Understand When to Check The Battery

You should check the inverter battery for home when it is fully charged. Before undertaking a check on the health of the inverter battery, it is suggested that you charge an inverter battery for good 10 to15 hours with a suitable charger. Also, before conducting the examination, the inverter should be removed from the front panel.


5. Top-Up The Battery with Distilled Water

When you buy inverter battery your seller will inform you that normal tap water or RO water should not be used for top-ups because this water contains dirt and other particles with might interfere with the functioning of the battery. Such water also shortens the battery life. So it is suggested that distilled water should be used for battery top-up.


6. Keep the Battery Surface Spotless

In order to ensure the proper functioning of the battery, you should check if there is any deposition of dirt on its surface. In case you find any dirt on its surface you should try to clean it with a dry cloth. This will help you to keep the battery clean.
